Job Summary
The Manager, Risk is responsible for supporting aspects of risk within Olympia, including enterprise risk, operational risk, third-party risk, business continuity, fraud risk, and insurance. Experience in risk management within the financial services industry and a proven track record of implementing effective risk management strategies. Experience and knowledge implementing a GRC system. Understanding of OSFI regulations and ability to support the implementation of the corporate-wide risk management program.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework that aligns with the organization's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Chief Risk Officer in the development of the risk culture within the organization.
- Support the identification, assessment, and prioritization of key risks facing the organization, including enterprise risk, third-party risk, operational risk, and insurance risk.
- Lead the implementation of the selected GRC system for Risk.
- Conduct and facilitate annual enterprise risk management program.
- Key contact for the Business to provide real-time guidance on risk and risk related issues including fraud, insurance and operational risk management.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and stress tests to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor key risk indicators and performance metrics to track the effectiveness of risk management efforts and identify emerging risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management and business units, to develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and controls.
- Provide guidance and support to business units on risk management best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare regular risk management reports and updates to senior management and the board of directors. (Backup to Chief Risk Officer in updates to Executive and Board of Directors).
- Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements, industry trends, and emerging risks that may impact the organization.
- Mentor and develop members of the risk management team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Formal education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA, FRM) is an asset.
- Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager), PRM (Professional Risk Manager), or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) is an asset.
- 5+ years of experience in risk management within the financial services industry.
- Understanding of financial markets, products, and regulatory requirements.
Specialized skills or knowledge
- Focus on credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and compliance risk preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify key trends and insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Background check is required.
