Role Summary

We at Olympia are looking for a Quality Assurance Tester to join the Exempt Edge division on a full-time permanent basis. As Quality Assurance Tester, you fill a vital role on our team. Working with clients and our client success team, you write technical user stories for our developers to ensure new features and custom development items are delivered as envisioned by the business unit and our clients. As a key member of the quality control team, you will write user acceptance tests, and ensure proper internal testing from both a user and technical perspective.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding attention to detail and must be able to deliver results in a dynamic, team-oriented environment while adapting quickly to ever-changing priorities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Upholds the division and Olympia’s reputation and values, while promoting our motto “With Us, It’s Personal” in all interactions with employees, clients, and business associates
  • Remain up to date on all Olympia products, services, legislative requirements
  • Work effectively with our team and our clients to deliver amazing software
  • Bring your knowledge and experience to create efficiencies in our QA process
  • Decipher and translate business logic into test plans on Github
  • Complete regression, integration, and functional tests
  • Assist with design documentation, configuration management, and software deployment
  • Assist in deployment processes by reviewing tickets for deployment, doing pull requests, working with leadership to authorize the deployment
  • Submit and track defects for resolution by software developers
  • Provide support to internal users via phone, e-mail, and on occasion through meetings
  • Identify, diagnose, report, and assist developers in resolving defects and verifying bug fixes
  • Provide clear, concise, documentation to support end-users

Experience and Skills

  • High school Diploma is required
  • College and or University Degree in Computer Science
  • 1 - 3 years working as a business analyst/ quality assurance professional on a software development team
  • Intermediate level with Outlook and Microsoft Office products and internet application
  • Ability to learn new technologies and grow in capabilities
  • Adept to work within a small team both collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
  • An understanding of database fundamentals, SQL and/or equivalent database experience
  • Exposure to the agile development methodology, iterative development, and testing
  • Financial applications experience an asset
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Background check is required
