Olympia is seeking an energetic self-starter to join our growing HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into the Recruiting or Human Resources fields. You will play a critical role in facilitating our Talent team, ensuring our candidates have an exceptional experience from our first contact right through to onboarding.

Role Responsibilities

  • Acts as a first point of contact for Human Resources and addresses any internal and external requests/concerns related to Human Resources such as policies, practices, and procedures
  • Collaborate with the Human Recourses Manager to develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract top quality talent. Identify areas of the candidate experience that need improvement
  • Actively source, recruit, and hire talent across all disciplines for Olympia
  • Deliver full cycle recruitment including sourcing, advertising, conduct pre-screen phone interviews, face to face interviews, reference checks and exit interviews
  • Draft various employee letters including contracts and offer letters
  • Create, send, and verify information in new hire packages
  • Coordinate and execute the employee orientation process to ensure onboarding processes are well-organized and efficient, and provide an optimal employee and manager experience at each step
  • Perform basic administration processing and approval of transactions, data input and verification of required documentation; ensure timely and accurate data entry and correction of HR transactions into systems, while working closely with Payroll
  • Maintain employee files and related documents, in addition to managing all HR-specific documents; ensure all documents related to the employee life cycle are accurately completed, filed, and disposed of according to legislation.
  • Develop HR solutions by collecting and analyzing information, recommending courses of action to Management
  • Respond to internal HR related inquiries and requests using good judgement, escalating inquiries as necessary to the Manager Human Resources all the while maintaining complete confidentiality
  • Provide metrics and reports such as weekly recruitment reports/statistics, job vacancy etc.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required

Experience and Skills

  • Completion of a University degree in the field of Human Resources/Business or related area is an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a corporate or agency Recruitment or HR environment
  • A background working in a highly confidential role requiring a high level of professionalism
  • Prior experience recruiting for financial, Information Technology and Accounting roles is an asset
  • Intermediate knowledge of Canadian Employment law and Human Rights legislations
  • Experience with an HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems is an asset, preferably ADP Workforce Now
  • Pursuing a designation (CHRP) would be an asset
  • Advance level of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Background check will be required
