Job Summary

Tarman Inc. (Tarman) is a dynamic and innovative organization made up of multiple subsidiaries which operate across diverse sectors, including entertainment, finance, and recreation. The Marketing and Design Specialist is responsible for executing comprehensive marketing strategies and design initiatives for each subsidiary. The successful candidate will work onsite from Olympia Financial Group Inc.’s Calgary office, receiving guidance from Olympia’s marketing leadership team while holding primary responsibility for executing the marketing activities across the various subsidiaries, including an arcade, a marina, golf course and more.

This role requires an individual who is a creative thinker with strong project management skills and a solid understanding of various marketing methodologies, particularly in digital advertising platforms such as Google Ads and Meta Ads. Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is essential, along with a talent for creating engaging visual content that aligns with Tarman’s brand identity.

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are critical, as the Marketing and Design Specialist will work closely with the key stakeholders of Tarman to optimize strategies, analyze campaign performance, and create compelling marketing messages with visually impactful designs to drive ideal results.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and carry out Tarman’s marketing strategy, encompassing brand development, digital presence, content creation, public relations, and stakeholder communications.
  • Execute the various marketing requests of Tarman's executives to align with the vision of each subsidiary and its unique needs.
  • Conduct market research for each subsidiaries respective industry to optimize strategies and campaigns across all initiatives.
  • Design and prioritize marketing campaigns that align with Tarman’s strategic goals, ensuring they resonate with the company’s vision and audience through a balanced mix of tactics.
  • Utilize analytics to refine marketing approaches, aiming to enhance brand visibility and lead generation effectively.
  • Enrich Tarman’s digital and social media marketing strategies to bolster brand recognition, incorporating digital advertising and SEO enhancements.
  • Create and schedule content across various platforms to fuel lead generation efforts.
  • Spearhead event management, including the selection of events to sponsor and the organization of events.
  • Craft and distribute online newsletters and promotional emails across different channels.
  • Generate innovative content marketing ideas and keep the website content fresh.
  • Work closely with design teams to enhance user experience.
  • Employ a range of web analytics tools to evaluate the success of digital marketing initiatives and extract information from data to adjust strategies as required.
  • Identify market trends and insights to optimize marketing spend and performance.
  • Explore and implement innovative growth strategies in digital marketing.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to perform various assigned tasks as requested by Tarman’s management and executives.

  • Marketing Strategy Development: Collaborate with the key stakeholders to develop and implement effective marketing strategies for various subsidiaries, focusing on audience engagement and brand growth.
  • Project Management: Plan, execute, and monitor marketing campaigns across multiple platforms. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and with desired outcomes.
  • Digital Advertising: Manage and optimize Google Ads campaigns, including keyword research, ad creation, performance tracking, and reporting insights to improve ROI.
  • Content Creation: Develop engaging marketing materials, including digital graphics, brochures, and social media content. Work with design tools to create visually appealing assets.
  • Brand Management: Maintain consistent brand identity across all marketing channels and ensure that all design work aligns with the Tarman brand and values.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with each subsidiaries teams to understand their marketing needs and provide tailored support.
  • Analytics, Research and Reporting: Analyze marketing campaign performance data, provide actionable insights, and make recommendations for improvement, alongside continuously conducting market research to understand trends, audience needs, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies.

Formal education or experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Design, Communications, or another related field is preferred but could be supplemented with a diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of Strategic Marketing experience is required.
  • 1 or more years of Project Management Experience is an asset, but not required.

Specialized skills or knowledge

  • Experience with Google Ads and Meta Ads, as well as a solid understanding of digital marketing best practices for leveraging both platforms, is required.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and Canva is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Background check is required.
